Event: 7 for 7:30pm Wednesday 15 May | The Robert Hardy Lecture Theatre, Bishop Grosseteste University

Jesus' parable of the two brothers,
(often called the Prodigal Son) is full of
references to the Genesis stories of Jacob
and Esau and Joseph and his brothers.
Jesus' handling of these tales and especially
the parable's extraordinary punch line raises
very radical questions about any notions
of the people of God.
The Rev. Canon Dr Trevor Dennis was
Vice Dean of Chester Cathedral. He is an
internationally respected biblical scholar and
his, "retelling of the Bible is exceptional in its
range, from the mysterious and poetic to the
down-to-earth and funny. His skill as a story
teller is undeniable" - Church Times.
