Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln will celebrate the beginning of Advent with a carol service in aid of charity at Lincoln Cathedral on Sunday 2nd December.
Members of the public are welcome to join BG staff, students and their families at service, which will begin at 3pm.
As well as performances by musicians and choirs there will be plenty of opportunities for the congregation to get involved with the singing.
This year's theme of Advent Jubilee will pick up on the celebratory mood of the country at the end of a year which has seen the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics and the Paralympic Games.
BG also celebrated its own 150th anniversary in 2012, having first opened its doors in January 1862.
The carol service will also celebrate the good news of the Advent story, looking forward to Christmas with an emphasis on Christ's mission to fulfil the prophecies of Isaiah.
Among those performing will be musicians from Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln including the college choir, the community choir Vocal Authority, the Back in the Saddle band and drama students.
The service will also feature children from Welbourn C of E Primary School who have worked with Annie Walker, BG's Community Music Co-ordinator, and drama staff from BG.
The Bishop of Lincoln, the Rt Revd Christopher Lowson, who is also a governor at BG, will preach at the service.
A collection will be split between the Lincoln Community Larder and The Teenage Cancer Trust, two charities nominated by BG staff and students.
