Bishop Grosseteste University graduates are among the most employable in the whole of the UK, according to the results of the Destination of Leavers for Higher Education (DLHE) survey published yesterday (Thursday).An impressive 98% of students studying their first degree were in work or further study six months after graduating – which means BGU is the third best UK university for the employability of graduates.
Only two other universities – the Arts University Bournemouth and Harper Adams University – have a higher employability figure than BGU.
The survey also showed that 100% of BGU students who studied other types of undergraduate degree were in work or further study.
The figures relate to full-time first degree graduates leaving in 2015/16 and the national average for all UK universities is 94%.
The results of the survey are directly linked to the recent Gold rating the university achieved in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), putting BGU amongst the best in the country for teaching.
The TEF panel praised BGU as a university where “employability and enterprise skills are embedded throughout the student experience, enabling students to acquire knowledge, skills and understanding that are most highly valued by employers.”
The Vice Chancellor of Bishop Grosseteste University, the Reverend Canon Professor Peter Neil, commenting on the DLHE outcome, said: “We’re thrilled that our graduates achieve such positive outcomes after studying with us, but it’s certainly not by accident.

The Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey collects information on what all leavers from higher education (HE) programmes are doing six months after qualifying from their HE course.
