The season kicks off with Brief Encounter on Wednesday, 5 June, continuing with a different 'Best of British' screening every Wednesday for the rest of the month.
Bev Bamber, Head of Conferencing and Events at Bishop Grosseteste University, said: "We are delighted to be showcasing some great and ever-popular British films. I think that there's something in the programme to appeal to everyone and we have carefully selected the four key films, with input from many people in our audiences, to dovetail into the rest of our June programme."
The four specially-selected 'Best of British' films are:
Brief Encounter (PG) 2.30pm Wednesday 5 June
Billy Elliot (15) 2.30pm Wednesday 12 June
Local Hero (PG) 2.30pm Wednesday 19 June
Lawrence of Arabia (PG) 2.30pm Wednesday 26 June
The Venue box office and bar open one hour before screenings start. You can also get tickets online and print them at home via The Venue's website: www.thevenuelincoln.co.uk.
Tickets cost £5 (£4 concessions). Concessions are children under 14, adults over 65, and students with university/college ID or NUS card.
